Dirk Wallace is a partner in the Dover, Ohio, office of Novogradac & Company LLP. Mr. Wallace has extensive experience in developer consulting and real estate syndication with an emphasis in real estate partnership audit and taxation. He is experienced in affordable housing developments and specializes in the low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC), including properties financed through Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act of 1996 (NAHASDA), and the historic rehabilitation tax credit (HTC). His consulting experience includes the preparation of LIHTC cost certifications for numerous state housing agencies, as well as mortgagers and contractors cost certifications for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Mr. Wallace also leads and coordinates the LIHTC Working Group, a membership organization that provides a platform to address technical programmatic issues surrounding the LIHTC industry. Mr. Wallace is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and seminars on affordable housing industry topics. He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ohio University and is licensed as a certified public accountant in Ohio.

Janice Hetland

Jan Hetland has closed hundreds of tax credit and affordable housing transactions across the country. She works to anticipate the needs of clients and to address those needs before issues arise. With this approach, she guides investors, community development entities, syndicators, lenders, for-profit and nonprofit developers and businesses in effectively using tax credit and other development incentives to achieve their business goals. Tax credit enhanced financing typically involves multiple layers of debt and equity that present challenging business, tax and legal issues. Ms. Hetland combines her multidisciplinary experience with innovative techniques to structure, document and close these multifaceted transactions in a timely and cost-efficient manner. She also assists clients in handling post-closing asset management and exit issues and strategies. Ms. Hetland was elected to the governing committee for the American Bar Association’s Affordable Housing and Community Development Forum and is a Fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Ms. Hetland was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America Real Estate Law, 2012-2015. Ms. Hetland is ranked in Chambers USA, Real Estate (St. Louis & Surrounds), 2010-2015. Ms. Hetland was selected for inclusion in Missouri & Kansas Super Lawyers, 2008–2015. Ms. Hetland earned her bachelor’s degree from Lawrence University and her juris doctor from Washington University School of Law.

Mark Eidson

Mark Eidson is a principal with Prudential Mortgage Capital Company and serves as the portfolio manager of the GSE Affordable Housing platform. In that role, he oversees investor relations within the GSE program channels and manages the overall flow of GSE affordable business though PMCC. Before his current role, he was an originator who specialized in structuring mortgage loans and credit enhancements for affordable housing projects including tax-exempt bond financed projects, low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) projects and HUD Section 8 projects utilizing the FHA, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan programs. Mr. Eidson has been involved in the development, acquisition and financing of multifamily developments for more than 25 years. He has worked in the investment banking industry specializing in tax-exempt bonds, the multifamily lending industry specializing in FHA, Fannie Mae DUS and Freddie Mac and has also worked with various multifamily development firms developing multifamily housing projects. Mr. Eidson received both a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree with a concentration in accounting from the University of Tennessee. He is located in the Atlanta office.

Philip Melton

Philip Melton was a senior managing director with Hunt Mortgage Group, formerly Centerline Capital Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hunt Companies. He led the Affordable Housing Department and was the head of the FHA lending platform as well as a member of the company executive committee at Centerline Mortgage Capital Inc. Before that, Mr. Melton was the head of affordable housing and FHA lending platform at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital LLC for more than eight years. During his 20-year career, Mr. Melton has implemented new processes and developed crucial relationships with Freddie Mac and FHA, and has generated and managed more than $3.6 billion in financings. He is an alumnus of University of New Orleans, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in economics. He is a member of the advisory board for the Tax Credit Advisor, a contributing author for The Scotsman Guide and has been a speaker at more than 60 affordable Housing Industry conferences during the past 15 years.
